Start with the classic template
Use a 585 × 559 PNG or JPG laid out like Roblox’s classic shirt or pants template. The preview crops each face from that layout. Resizing an unrelated image to those dimensions does not make it a valid clothing design. Get the template from Roblox’s classic clothing documentation.
Inspect four views
- Check the front for misplaced buttons, pockets, and uneven hems.
- Rotate to the side and compare where the design crosses a seam.
- Check the back for reversed text or an unexpected empty panel.
- Load shirt and pants together to inspect the waist transition.
The source image appears below the model so you can connect a visible issue to its template region. Fix the artwork in your image editor and load the revised file again.
What this preview supports
This is a static block-avatar approximation for classic shirts and pants. It does not simulate joint movement, R15 deformation, layered clothing, avatar bundles, lighting, Roblox moderation, or asset permissions. Classic T-shirt graphics use a different format and are not supported here. Transparent shirt regions reveal the pants texture on the torso when both are loaded.
Verify the design in Roblox Studio
Roblox recommends a Studio test before selling classic clothing. Create a Block Avatar rig, add a Shirt or Pants beneath it, and apply the image using ShirtTemplate or PantsTemplate. The official testing instructions explain the current interface. Check the intended avatar and moving joints in Studio; a browser preview cannot certify fit.
Keep revisions identifiable
Use a filename such as courier-shirt-v3.png and record the issue you changed. Compare the same camera view before and after each revision. Avoid changing several seams at once if you are trying to isolate one alignment defect.
Before you publish
Check artwork rights, current creator requirements, and platform fees. Use the UGC cost guide and the budget calculator for clearly scoped cost planning. Preset 3D-item fees do not substitute for the classic-clothing fee model.
