The formula
How the Robux fee estimate works
Roblox describes the standard split for your own in-experience passes as 70% to the creator and a 30% Marketplace Fee. Developer products are the repeat-purchase counterpart to passes, and Roblox's general monetization guidance describes the same 70% creator return for in-app purchases.
Sale price × 0.70
Estimated creator earnings after the standard Marketplace Fee.
Target ÷ 0.70
Estimated list price, rounded up to the next whole Robux.
Use the right split
When the 70% creator estimate applies
- Your own pass sold in your own Roblox experience
- Your own developer product sold through your experience
- A default or actual transaction price entered in whole Robux
- A planning estimate before you verify the sale in Creator Hub
Managed Pricing may reduce a player's transaction price based on economic location. For the closest estimate, calculate from the price recorded for that purchase—not only the default price shown in your product settings.
FAQ
Robux tax calculator questions
How much does Roblox take from a game pass sale?
When you sell your own pass in your own experience, Roblox says you generally earn 70% of the Robux spent and the remaining 30% is its Marketplace Fee. Different creator, affiliate, UGC, and licensed-IP arrangements can use different splits.
How do I price an item to receive a target amount of Robux?
Divide the target creator earnings by 0.70, then round the result up to the next whole Robux. For example, a 100 Robux target needs an estimated list price of 143 Robux.
Does regional pricing change the calculator result?
It can. Roblox Managed Pricing may show a player a lower region-specific transaction price than your default price. Use this calculator with the actual transaction price when possible, and treat Roblox's transaction records as final.
Is the Roblox Marketplace Fee an income tax?
No. The 30% Marketplace Fee is a platform fee, not a government income tax. If you later exchange Earned Robux through DevEx, taxes may apply to the cash payout depending on your circumstances.
Can I use this calculator for UGC avatar items?
Not reliably. Marketplace avatar-item sales, in-experience affiliate commissions, progressive revenue share, resales, publishing advances, and IP licenses can all change the split. Check the specific Roblox documentation and your final transaction report.
