Roblox Terrain Seed Planner

Find a terrain recipe worth keeping. Generate each candidate in Roblox Studio, record the complete settings here, then compare your playtest observations.

Record a candidate

Copy the settings from Studio. Keep them fixed while testing different seeds. Your records stay in this tab until you leave; export to keep them.

Compare 0 candidates

Save your first tested recipe to start the comparison.

A seed is one setting in a recipe

Roblox’s Generate tool uses a seed to determine terrain shape. Region size and position, selected biomes, blending, biome size, and caves also belong in your record. Keep those settings fixed while comparing seeds so each test answers one clear question.

Run a small comparison

  1. Save a working copy and choose a bounded test region in Studio.
  2. Record every generation setting from the Terrain Editor.
  3. Generate one candidate and walk its intended route.
  4. Save observations about spawn space, steep edges, and route continuity.
  5. Try another seed with the same settings and repeat the check.
  6. Choose a candidate here and export the comparison.

This tool records your recipes and decisions. Terrain generation and visual inspection happen in Studio. The example seed is a starting value, not a curated map recommendation. Confirm the settings accepted by your current Studio version.

Keep the result useful for your team

Use observations such as “flat spawn area, route needs one bridge” rather than “looks good.” Load a saved candidate to reuse its settings, then save a new candidate after another Studio test. The JSON file preserves all candidates and your selection; it is a planning record rather than an importable Roblox place.

See the official Terrain Editor reference for Generate controls. Continue with terrain orientation and terrain materials when refining your chosen map.
